Wed 19 August 2026 - BRIDGES, FROM MAIDENHEAD TO BOURNE END, VIA STANLEY SPENCER
A walk of many bridges - to cross, to go under and to admire, around the Thames and Jubilee Rivers. An extended lunch break at Cookham to allow time for a visit to the Stanley Spencer Gallery (admission £7.00; 18 to 25 years £3.50; Art Fund £3.50; Museum Assoc. £3.50). It's a flat walk along a pretty stretch of the Thames with the possibility of a paddle if there's a heat wave! Often walking on hard surfaces but also potential for muddy sections. Some steps. (SWC 56) Possible drop out at Cookham.
