South Bank Ramblers

Wed 26 August 2026 - GREAT MISSENDEN CIRCULAR VISITING NEW SOUTH BANK KISSING GATE

A moderate paced walk across pleasant, rolling Chilterns terrain. We start off through the attractive town of Great Missenden (where Roald Dahl lived) heading across fields to arrive at two kissing gates that were funded by South Bank Ramblers in 2018. We then continue to "The Lee", our lunch stop. After lunch, we make our way to our latest South Bank funded kissing gate (installed Jan 2026). We then circle back to the finish in Great Missenden where there are two pubs and several cafes. There is a stretch of road walking as a result of HS2 path closures. Also there are six step-over stiles, some of them quite rickety.
