Wed 16 September 2026 - SOLE STREET CIRCULAR (KENT) APPLES AND GRAPES - Sue E

A shortish walk but with a hill.  At a moderate pace through the extensive apple orchards near Cobham. We walk through Cobham, with its historical Dickens pub, attractive 13th century church and almshouses then through more orchards to descend the slopes where the Silverham, Luddesdown vineyard is being extended.  We will stop at the base of the slope at the vineyard's pop up pub, before the ascent up the chalky slope to Sole Street station (with a pub next to it).  Kent is our Garden of England and apple and grape harvesting should be taking place.
