This is an early afternoon walk along an old smugglers path using summer time light to enjoy an early evening fish and chip supper in Rye, if chosen. The route from Rye to the lovely historic village of Winchelsea will go onto the sea wall after lunch across Pett Level marshes and lead back to Rye via the ruins of Camber castle. The lunch break will allow for plenty of time to explore Winchelsea church and this picturesque village and its connections with the Pre-Raphaelite painter John Everett Millais.
